my car has started making a single "clunk" type noise when i let the clutch up. It has recently had a pair of s/h driveshafts and there was not much play in the CV joints. it has also started jerking badly when the revs go below 2k when coasting, drop the clutch, or go back on the gas, and it is fine.

    any ideas?

I'm thinking engine mounts (it has a solid type motorsport front mount but I've not checked the rear/g'box mounts) or a loose subframe bolt????

Subframe bolt you can normally hear where it's coming from - but it sounds more like engine mounts (probably the front one), as PB said......

Yeah, that sounds exactly like the subframe bolt - probably sheared off, they're a pig to fix.....

there is a quick and easy ish fix if you dont mind cutting a hole in the carpet ;) , they are covered by mats anyway so i'm not too fussed.

if it stays dry i may have a play tonight, but i need to get fuelled up first with cheap coop lager and egg sausage and chips [:D]

not the rear subframe bolts, wheel or hub nuts, damn I'm going to have to jack it up and check it properly tomorrow.
