Yeah i know. But you would be surprised how many VW parts departments don't have a clue. A couple of months ago my father-in-law tried to get an exhaust back box for a polo from Basingstoke VW, they told there were 2 listed and they didn't know which one would fit,so he would have to take a chance! I contacted colbournes and the geezer told me one of the part numbers had been discontinued, so he got me the right one. And as for HWM in walton, bloody hell their parts department is staffed by muppets!
Its a shame they treat there techs like sh1t and any car over 2 years old is regarded as a sh1ter. Edition One will know exactly what I'm talking about on this one.
I can't speak for the service department, as i don't use them. I just found the geezers on parts to be very helpful. Most service departments tend to treat the general public like monkeys. I'm afraid its the old one, no-one else knows anything about cars but us.
