communicating with de-imobilised ECU?

    I am trying to scan a 1998 ecu from a AGG engine which has had the imobiliser protection removed by a company. Could this mod have stopped the controller showing up on vagcom or have I just got a wiring issue. Likelihood is that is the later as the engine and loom have been rehoused into a van but just thought someone may know

    An immob defeat should not stop you from using the ECU with vag-com at all.
