What program (for free if poss) do i need to get so that i can convert the mp3's to normal CD format, so i can the music around the house and in the car? [:s]

    Cheers

nero does it. just tell it to burn an audio CD (as in one that plays in a music CD player) and it will allow you to put mp3 files onto it, then when you burn it because you told it to make an audio CD it converts them on the fly [:D]

    I don't have Nero!

Will Record Now do that? I've used it to backup DVD's etc but wasn't aware that it could convert the mp3's!

Roxio Easy CD Creator converts them. My PC Came with it already installed. Your CD Writer probably came with something similar.

Just went home and tried Media player. It's converted them and it works fine on my computer, but in my stereo it plays for 3/4 secs then cuts out for 2secs then plays another 3/4 secs! [:x]

Is this happening because i've got really cheap scabby CD-R discs?

Youb can do it with WinAMP - you set the output device to 'wavwriter' or something... Can't quite remember now! But I know you can do it with that.

that happens if either youre cd-rs are cheap and sh1te, or youre cd player doesnt support cd-rs, or both - they arent the same as the ones you buy in the shop, whatever you use to make them (those are printed) - some normal cd players will play them better than others but its pot luck really how well they work. I had a kenwood cd changer in a car once (before cd-rs were common) that used to do the same occasionally if used to play a normal cd recorded on cd-r, if you get what I mean.

I don't think its the player coz it plays other CD-R's at the moment.

The CDs i used were really cheap and sh*te called Aterra [:s]

I'll buy some proper ones and give it another go!

Great stuff! Converted some mp3's I had onto a CD through Nero & they work great in the car & the home stereo! (1st time I've tried it [:$] )

Incidentally I downloaded an album that's got a .VBR extension & it says it's a MP3 Format Sound type. Trouble is that Nero doesn't recognise it. Any suggestions?
