Hey guys finaly Vw got me the blue and black coolant sensors. fitted them both and after a short drive the needle sat at the 2nd to last notch on the dial HOT!
I suspected the thermostat being stuck so checked the bottom rad hose which was tepid and fan wouldn't run even after I'd been sat there for over 10 mins with engine running. Thing is I found this strange as before I changed them the fan would run (new fan) and the bottom hose would get hot after a short time.
So I thought ok duff sensors so pulled the plug off the blue one and the fan instantly kicked in and the engine surged which I guess is normal
Can the blue sensor stop the fan comming on?

Gona change the stat this weekend for peace of mind
Is the gsf ones ok? Or they crap like I've heard about the sensors?

have a read of the coolant faq, covers all the coolant system checks. blue sensor has no effect on the coolanty system or fan, its temp sensor for ecu. the surge in revs could have shifted an airlock somewhere though
