Can anyone recommend a cordless soldering iron/gun for basic soldering in and around the engine bay/dash etc? I'm assuming gas powered or rechargeable are the only types? What is the best tip to use also? It will primarily be used for 1-3mm wire Budget 20-30 if possible?
i gots a dremel one which is ace way better than cheap pikey leccy one i had before. coems with loadsa tips for plastic cutting n stuff. watch out for the exhaust port it'll get ya if you arnt wary the great thing about the port though is you can use it on your heatshrink so no more need for a lighter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dremel-MultiTip-Gas-Torch-Soldering-Iron-Welding-Kit-/180659396068
I ended up with a Potasol SuperPro 125, it was around 60, but its been great so far even with 6mm wire. Comes with heatshrink/plastic knife/blow torch/hot air gun attachments too! They do a cheaper range too which will be really good if the quality is the same as the 125
Ive got one that i got from HobbyCraft a couple of years ago. Gas, similar to RJs with different tips for plastic cutting as well.
