Hi, I'm making a small claim because of a gas leak at work, so
should be looking at a small amount of money, and I want a
    new car (Currently a shed of a mk2 Polo Coupe S) - ideally a
    Rado. I'd also like a MK1, but I don't have a garage, and if I had
one I'd want to do an engine swap in one, so for now it looks
    like a Rado.

I'll probably be looking at spending around 1500, maybe a
little more for the right car,I'm guessing this will be either a 1.8
16v or a 2.0 16v for that money, what should I look out for, what
often goes wrong, do they rust anywhere - all the usual
questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, that was a big help. What do you all think of a Corrado
at this sort of price, I know I'm not gonna get a low mileage
minter but I won't be getting a dog, will I?

should be able to get a pretty good valver for that money,

g60s would probably be abit rough at that price and the vr6's are silly money at the moment!

have a look in the for sale section on the forum in the link in my previous post

Nah it's nto a shed really, it's just annoying me that it's slow.
Oh, and the exhaust fell off the other day....

    I'd be looking for a valver and not a G or a VR6,as I won't be
able to insure either of those.
