So while the dash came out I found this...

    Apparently is a Diagnostic Port.

Can anyone tell me how it works and what I can plug it into?

Yes it's the K-Line to the control modules - bloody early one. I've only used the adaptor once! but it had 2 of those (12V, Earth,K-Line & possible a L-Line?)

If your car has a Immobliser it will also be accessed by this, ABS & Dashpod also accessable via this

You'll not get anything out of that - models with one single port were just used by Karmann for factory tests / checks - especially if you have an ABF fitted...

Who installed the engine? - woth getting the proper OBD2 port fitted as this will be very useful for this engine.

kr had no diagnostics as standard. that isnt even the diagnostics part of the port, all you have there is a live and earth. the diagnotics lines are on another 2 pin plug fitted next to it, usually with grey and yel wires. as i say though, no diagnostics on a kr so no 2nd diagnostics 2 pin plug fitted

:thumbup:I agree with rubjonny. My Corrado is a 93 K reg, factory fitted with the 9a engine, which runs Ke-Motronic, it has the connection you have plus a 2nd 2 pin connection next to it.

    No diagnostics on the kr.
