Is there a better cable change gearbox I could put in my 1.8 16v Corrado? The standard one is on its way out and I was thinking of replacing it with a box from another model as the 16v ratios seem quite high? Id prefer to loss some top speed and gain a bit more acceleration if possible. I was thinking maybe a diesel box ?
I don't know much about gearboxes so you'll have to excuse my ignorance... what is an AGC box? and what year passats have them? Are all the ratios different or just the final drive, + will it give better acceleration in the lower gears?
It's off a 1.6 passat, I told you that. The numbers are stamped in the top of the gearbox, in front of the shifter mechanism. Go see what boxes you can find and write down the codes and we'll tell you the ratios. Or you could use my corrado 2.0 8v box, that's pretty low geared. I'll have to check up on the ratios though.
