Got a 1990 8v gti, really fanncy a corrado can only insure the 1.8 16v. what will i like and dislike go cheers
you'll like - everything! apart from the fact its less practical and the parts cost a bomb. and that you didnt buy a vr6 or g60
flugers? i think your 8v will feel a lot gruntier down low but if you rev the rado lots it'll feel quicker. if you like low down grunt, dont bother, get a g60 and chip and pulley it. itll have more low down than a standard vr then, and with a few other bits should be better top end too!
Ive just done the same. Overall I like the corrado better BUT the Corrado doesnt feel any quicker plus the Golf was much better as an everyday car. Its my first 16v and its taking a bit of getting used to having to keeps the revs up to get it to move.
when ya do get used to ewm 16vs are good, dont get me wrong. But you have to thrash em. good job my alfa was a company car really, 1st gear round roundabouts fast enough to squeal tyres...
i agree, and the gear change dont feel too good to me neither. but the driving position is fantastic and you feel like your in something a bit diffarent and nice. id still like a g60 [:^(]
dislikes - everthing else Blimey mate u must of been run over by a rrado!!!!!!!! Likes-Looks,build qlty,driving poss,handling.......... Dislikes-...............heavy weight,parts cost..end!
Give over... it's the best. If you can only afford a 1.8 then get that and save your no claims for a VR6 in the future. A Golf is just that a Golf a Corrado is it's own model not something that could be a 1.4 tarted up to look like a GTI etc.
get a 1.8 for a year...... following year:& nbsp; Koni/eibach adj. sussp. kit&nb sp;&nb sp;Eibach a.r.b.-s&nbs p;&nbs p;&nbs p;&nbs p;Polyurethane bushes all round& nbsp;& nbsp;280mm brakes 9a bottom end&nb sp;&nb sp;&nb sp;&nb sp; schrick cams+flowed head&n bsp;&n bsp;&n bsp;You will never go back ta a mk2 8v!
right time to start looking for a rrado me thinks and the mk1 will back on the oad soon as well happy days
