Nice bit of history from Nicky Siano, here's where all our beloved House music came from, i've been listening to this to and from work for weeks. Uplifting stuff.

Show on Beeb 4 late last Friday about tunes from 1991, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, 808 State, Massive Attack and PWEI. Brought back some (vague) memories.

Listening to a bit of Gil Scot-Heron (rip) - i can't believe the greatest lyrical poet of the late 20th/early 21st century passed away yesterday..........last years album release ""I'm new here" along with his recent collaboration with Jamie xx "we're new here" are possibly the greatest releases of the past few years.

Why are folk like the talentless ****s as shown week in/week out on the x-factor etc popularised on radio and throughout the media when truly talented artists like Gil Scot-Heron are often overlooked and cast aside - huh?.....i'd love to meet simon cowell........i'd happily do time for a flying headbutt to rearrange his smug face for polluting our airwaves with regurgitated meaningless fodder.

We saw gil play at a small festival in ireland last year and had the pleasure of spending the late evening/early morning drinking in the hotel bar with him afterwards - i raise my glass to a man thats lived and had stories to tell.

I can't believe it. Heard this song, wondered who it was, lo and behold it's Gaga again. Love her or hate her, she's churning them out. Currently no.7 in the UK charts:
