Why oh why.... do they put stickers on parts that have to be scratched off in 1000 pieces
Anyone else have this annoyance? 20220116_131733.jpg

Leave it on to absorb water and rust the new bit away quicker, that's what the mini centre that put wings on my old one did, along with no protection at all on the underside.
Steam as @Tristan said, or soak in water and scrape with blunt scraper (plastic) and get glue off with meths or isopropyl alcohol.

I hate this as well. You often end up doing more damage trying to remove them. All advice that has been given is good. I’m impatient though, and tend to use brake cleaner or acetone to soak the sticker and get it off a bit quicker. You just need to be careful not to let aggressive solvents sit on the paint for too long.

I got the GF to piggle the paper bit off in the end. I do think she soaked it in warm water to help. The glue was an easy one as I have some fantastic tar remover that sprays on, leave for 10 mins then it pours off as a runny gel.
Just a ball ache of a job when all they have to do is put a peelable sticker on. Half an hour of my life I wont get back... 20220116_141139.jpg

I have seen these on sealing surfaces, or other contact surfaces and you have to take them off!

Behind my work is a company called 'Covers 33' that specialise in vinyl record stuff, cases, covers, sleeves, mailing cartons etc.
When I popped in on Monday to get something I noticed they sold sticky label removal solution.
I'll see if it's on their website, also Goo Gone I think it's called is something we have used in work before, but not overly impressed. Used Jelsol years ago to get the stripe off my mg metro.

    Yer tiz...

Petrol works best and for the time being it’s readily available…
