This is me first VW, bin with Fords always trying a change, how easy is it to change disks and pads on a mk4 Golf GTI 20V Turbo?? (on the front)
Is there any special tools needed to remove caliper and once caliper is removed does the disk just slide off????
    Thanks MAC

Caliper comes off via 7mm allen.

Caliper carriers come off with 18mm socket.

Dead easy to change, you dont need a tool to push the front pistons back in, but I find it easier with one.

    Remove disc retaining screw first.

Well technically you don't. It can be done without if you're well practiced.
But as this is Matt, the tool is well advised!
