Do you need Insurance for Tax?

    Obviously you need an MOT for tax, but what about insurance?

    yeah you have to show your insurance certificate when buying tax. or a cover not will also do.

    They arent supposed to accept faxed ones so I'm told but I have got tax in the past with a faxed cover note.

    an insurance company should be able to issue you with a cover note within 24hrs........

    I think they are getting a bit strict about it latley. Most insurance companies can get you out a certificate of insurance or cover note within 48hrs.

    i think i may have had either photocopied or faxed covernotes accepted in the past... can't remember, but you do need insurance to get tax
