The driver was a copper & from what i remember he turned around after a few miles & told someone.

So long ago now but if i remember he either got away with it or didn't get much for it [:x] murder in my book.

Thinking back the old man might have been on his way home from the pub so might have been the cause of him falling over (but still if the driver was sobber he might have stopped).

One excuse was poor lighting........i remember a young lad found his arm or hand at the road side [xx(] .

His head should be hung in shame for a long time. [:v:]

Getting pi**ed and driving is one thing but driving in a car in that condition is just crazy. Did he know how bad it was or was he so drunk that he failed to realize the extent of the damage?

I agree with that, I worry about driving the day after the night before!! You get what deserve sometimes I guess. At least nobodys hurt.

Good example of what happens when you have about 10 too many. Have shown this to alot of mates who are in utter disbelief.

the thing about drink driving is you wouldnt do it if you were sober, seriously.

I think hitting the central reservation would have made me realize I'm too drunk to be behind the wheel if I didn't before. At that stage he should have left it in the central res. legged it and reported the car stolen after wiping his most recent prints from the controls.
(I haven't got any previous experience of this btw ;) )

He is lucky to have got away with it, although the police may still find out about it but now wouldn't have the evidence to secure a conviction I wouldn't think.

How come he can remember hitting the central reservation yet continued on his journey?

Or was this later that it came back to him?

I've got legless on drink when i was younger but no matter how bad i was i still knew what i was doing at the time.
