    Hi

I was in a hurry this morning and had to top up the oil in my 2.0 140bhp diesel Touran. However I hadn't realised that the foil seal that had been punched into the bottle had been clinging to the inside and all of a sudden became dislodged and flowed into the oil filler hole!

So it now sits somewhere on the valve train/splashguard. I'm unable to see it which is annoying otherwise I'd try to fish it out.

My next course of action is to remove the valve cover but does anyone else have any more obvious ideas as I hear the plastic covers warp once removed. I've not run it since and I'm guessing whilst the engine would likely mash it up anyway (should it make it's way into it properly) I'm more concerned it may block the pick up in the sump. Ideas?

Only way is take the rocker cover off.

I wouldn't want to leave it in there.

Me neither. Anyone have the right torque setting for cam cover bolts?

Not a job I wanted to do but it's done and I'm glad it's out. Now back to the Mk2 Golf!
