... whilst in collecting a new grille for the G60, my freind who is a salesman at our local dealership called me over and threw me the keys to the R32 they have on demo.... up the road in a flash and onto some good twist back roads not far away :p

Damn, they are fast!!! [:D] A very short 1st gear, but you get used to it after the first change. The car handles like its on rails!!! and took all the yumps, bumps and corners at speeds that some other motors would be in the feilds! [}:)] Very very impressive....

And the exhaust note... music to your ears :) When my 6 numbers come up, the first thing i'll do is up to the dealer and get one.

Got into the Bora afterwards and it just didnt have the same get up and go anymore!!!! LOL

Yup and can be annoying as you need 3rd for 60MPH. Nothing beats that 4motion shove in the back when you slam it into second though ;)

Si - how does the R32 compare to the Mk2 G60 in terms of acceleration, handling etc? Obviously it's bigger, more refined, 4wd etc... but is it *much* quicker? :)

Well i popped into Listers Stratford and they got an Unregistered R32 sat in the midlle of their showroom - cancelled order!!

So after a quick chat with finance and trade in, I bought it! Its already been PDI'ed etc, so it just need registering, my personal plates slapped on it and its all mine!!!

    I must be mad [:s] [:s]

    But you only live once!

I saw an electric blue one in London yesterday and I must admit to thinking about it...

Good luck Rob, full report required ASAP.

Looks liek your have to change your sig then....

I think you've found the answer to what Autocar were wondering. The VW VR6 and its successor in the R32 Engine is the very reason VW build petrol engines

Exactly... you only live once.... so make the most of it and enjoy it :p

Unfortunately im unable to answer that just at the mo.... The fastest ive had the G60 is 50mph as she is suffering from a bent valve at the mo....and we dont start the engine rebuild till later in the month, so hopefully come May time, she will be nicely ran in.... and i will put her up the 1/4 mile sprint at one of our trax days along side one of our members standard R32, and one that is pushing out around 270BHPish... will be interesting to see the times and results :p

Rob - I like your style! All reports will be keenly digested. Let me know the "real" mpg as well!
Drew - Could we possibly eventually own the SAME CAR?!!
    The mind boggles!
Going to look at one this weekend.
