    Hi,

Been researching a lower cost alternative to having a DTA style Dash.

Been designing my own version, and wondering how many people on here actually run DTA, and would use a dash.

It displays the basics, and there are a few custom screens. It is still in development so any comments would be appreciated.

I am thinking that I may make it into a product, but am still unsure at the moment.

Screen is around 80x25mm, whole unit around 120x70mm.
Also includes a F1 style shift light ;)

    Good question :-)
Yeah will support S Series ECUs too.

    Currently developing firmware for that.
Hoping to be ready with prototypes that are virtually production ready within 6 weeks.

Maybe you can take a unit and evaluate for me?

Unlikely I'm afraid as the car is off the road. The bottle of red wine tonight isn't helping.
Happy to help if something can be done with the car off the road, otherwise I can help when the car is back together.

Note to self, don't post when pished.
What I was trying to say was I'm happy to help, as long as it can be done without the car as it's currently in bits.

    Good work!
I have looked at these types of things before but for standard management.
Is it completely run from the DTA ECU or do you need a host to convert and run the data?

Completely run from DTA, and just plug to the ECU connector, along with 2 wires 12V/GND job done.

    Simple install as possible :)

So the LCD has a micro controller to hold the program as such?

    Yeah, kinda....

Its not actually part of the LCD, but the concept itself has a processor.

It means it is a totally self encapsulated product that connects to power and ECU :)

Will pick it up soon, think I have sourced an appropriate case that could mount to that vent :-)

Have done some initial costings and am hoping to be able to sell them at pretty close to 100, so affordable compared to some alternatives... Will keep everyone updated.
Also want to look at supporting other ECUs like MS, Emerald in the future

    Hey everyone,

Have a slight update for you all. Got it fully working with S60 today so good for Exp48, PRO and S-Series ECUS.

Hardware release will be end of next week.
Working on USB PC software for configuration and firmware updating. So really starting to come together ;)

Just an update, since it has gone quiet lately! Been a bit busy with other commitments!!

The hardware is finalised, and the PCBs are being manufactured as I type this. Will be receiving in 3 weeks, so need to assemble and test.

Case being designed to house it when I can provide a designer with the physical electronics, so all good.
Hoping to have working models the end of June ready to go! Making 10 in total, and 3 or 4 of those are accounted for.

Will post more pics when I get progress.

    Cheers
