    Hey guys,

Trying to load EKTA and it just keeps saying that I need a 1280 X 1024 screen but I only have a 15" monitor which has a maximum resolution of 1024 X 768.

Is there a way I can get around this? I am currently running Win 98 (waiting for my new PC to be built).

I need to start ordering bits for my engine and since most VW/Audi/Seat Stealerships hire Monkeys in there stores EKTA will be a big help.

    Cheers

No sorry. As far as I know you can't get round it. Have you tried seting the refresh rate to its lowest possible to get this resolution?

Sometimes you can install a non standard driver for your monitor to get this.

    DAmn,

Yep tried doing the refresh rate, not tried changing the driver.

Worth a go, its only my spare PC so I have nothing to loose (I blew my other one up [:^(] )

Oh yeah, apparently there are virtual desktop software packages about for download. I've never tried one, but may be a quick getaround?

    TIPS FOR WORKING AT 1024x&768

If your monitor only supports 1024x768 resolution do not dispair! ETKA will still run just fine and you will still be able to exploit its functions, but these tips may help you on your way.

Once in the VW model select screen, the following VW models are accessed by pressing the down arrow on the keyboard followed by 'Enter':
    TR [transporter]
    TRSY [transporter synchro]
    T2 [type 2]
    T2SY [type 2 synchro]
    T3 [type 3]
    VE [vento and jetta]
    VESY [vento and jetta synchro]
    1200 [beetle]

To zoom to a masked part of an illustration, simply click on the 'Functions' button [upper right hand side of screen], and then activate 'Illustration Zoom'.

To scroll through the parts listing for a particular illustration, simply click on the 'Page Text' button [uppermost on the screen].

To close any window of which you cannot see the 'ESC' button, simply press 'ALT F4' on your keyboard.

To switch between ETKA and your other Windows programs, press the 'Microsoft' button on your keyboard [between 'Ctrl' and 'Alt'] to reveal the Taskbar.

Remember that ETKA is the excuse you always needed for that 19" TFT monitor!!!

I think he is wondering if its possible to install ETKA without setting his display to 1280x1024?

Setup gives you the message that it can only run at this resolution blah blah and then shuts down without installing the software.

    Yep as Harry_The_Cake says,

I cant even get it loaded GBolton!

Let alone get to VW model select screen [:^(]

When I try to install it just tells me I need 1280x1024 screen, then closes.

Ah, sorry. AFAIK you cannot install v6 on a lower res screen. ETKA 5 can be though...which is where those instructions came from...sorry [:s]
