Just picked up this week, guess I better make a thread to document the journey. Managed to get my hands on some heated colour concept recaro front seats this week. Hopefully get those installed over the weekend. Next port of call will be getting it a little closer to the ground on suspension that doesn't feel like it was designed as a gyro for a boat. A lad I know has a set of coilover from a car he is breaking. Then some wheels (OMG, that is an absolute minefield, I am so undecided). Next will probably be a Vento front end I would love, but not many about, so may just go for some texture top bumpers, or full on poverty spec all black plastics. Finally, I really want to do a 3.2 conversion. I love the VR grunt and noise. Yes they are heavy, no they aren't "that fast" but will be more than enough in a Mk3. But I think I have to go 5 stud conversion for that so the driveshafts fit? I've got a LOT of reading up to do. **edit, need to figure out some hosting for pics
afaik (could be wrong) the direct image upload feature is available for paid members only - would recommend it if you stick around and want to support the forum - plus you get a jazzy sticker to boot! Sounds like you've got big plans for your new car, best of luck and welcome to the forum. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Each to their own but I'd recommend avoiding cheap coilovers unless you happen to live somewhere with no speed bumps
once you get 10 posts your forum account is upgraded to regular member then you can upload images. paid members can add an avatar to their username plus access some restricted sections
Thanks guys. I plan to stick around for a while with this one. Well, decided to swap the scuttle panel and seal over at weekend as it was crumbling away, and revealed this Nice Swapped it out for a fresh one from ECP, and then gave it a bath. Comes up well for 26yr old.
Seats are in now too What a faff getting that loom in, but it's done now. Next is looking for some coilovers/lowering springs, and a set of wheels
Looks in nice condition, I do like the colour, I had an electric green mk3 gti sadly I had to scrap it as the rust got that bad.
