Anyone heard of a Pertronix/Aldon Ignitor electronic points unit to replace the points and condenser in distributor for a Mk1? If so what are your experiences & how about sources / costs?
A friend had one on her beetle, first one she got blew up on a drive down to RTTS on the M5, the replacement has been fine since though, think it was a dodgy unit the first one.
Is it just supposed to be more resistant to moisture & that than the traditional unit? Any idea where I could get one?
