I'm looking for a Mk3 donor car, preferably a 2l 8v GTi. I have seen a car advertised as a 2l GL but the ad states it is an AGG engine with 115bhp. However it then goes on to say the 0-60 is less than the GTi and the top speed lower. The car is an estate.
My question is are all Mk3 2l the same?
    Thank you

I've an AGG in my mk2. The piston bowls are deeper, giving slightly lower compression. I changed it, obviously. But I wish I'd fitted some proper high compression ones now.. Budget at the time didn't allow
However, if it's in mild tune, and your donor engine is cheap, it'd be still fine.

Had a real early Mk3 with 2E tailblock, had mild head porting and Newspeed street cam, went extremely well,I did read the AGG takes a ECU "chip" to good result.
