I have been a right idiot and have driven a couple of miles without putting the oil cap back on my corrado after a top up. The whole engine bay has a nice fresh coating of oil so should I take it for a steam clean or shall I not bother?

You have an engine bay covered in oil, it's filthy, why wouldn't you clean it?! [:[]

yup, plastic bag over the dizzy.

i wouldnt fancy spraying directly on the spark plug area though but the heat will keep water away

Did this 6 times before, it is true that the car can have a probleme with starting again. Now just like "Jon P" is saying keep the engine running and you will be fine.

I use a plant spray to put on some degreaser (watch out so you dont spray important things that need to have grease on them, like bearings etc.) and then steam the engine clean.
For a nice finish spray some WD40 on the hoses then they will look like new.

When i was finished my engine looked like this:

but if its running at the start and at the end, you've won:thumbup::lol:

nothing worse than it not starting afterwards

Plus you shouldn't really be concentrating the jet towards those sensitive areas
