    Morning All,
As you will have seen elsewhere we now have a Mk3 GTi 8v in our Mk2. We are still learning it's foibles and with the weather taking a tumble in temperature the car doesn't seem to warm up as quickly as maybe it should.
It seems, at ambient air temp circa 3 degrees it is taking about 2 miles on 30mph roads (with little or no traffic) for the heating to get warm. Does this sound about right?
    What does yours do?

    Sounds about right.
It will be worse, if the thermostat is a bit leaky, allowing coolant to enter that radiator from cold, lengthening the warm up process.

Thanks. I'd rather not put a new stat in at the moment since it's only just had new fluids. Should probably have done it while the engine was out [:[]
    Will monitor.

That's not slow at all IMHO. Does it get warm after a while?

My 1.8t only just has warmish air coming out by the 3 miles to work and gauge hardly moves, went out in it Sunday and 10 miles the needle had only just moved in fact.

Yes, hot air before 2 1/2 miles.
    That's reassuring.
