ev gti inlet manifold

    i have a 1986 golf gti 8v ev k-jet i have just removed the throtel body to clean it as the inside was coverd with a black sticky stuff i also looked inside the inlet manifold and this was coverd with the same horible black stuff i was woundring if ay one had come across this befor and whats the best way to get rid of it

    It is oil deposits from the breather system. It's quite normal don't worry. Spray it with some carb cleaner or similar and then wipe it off with a rag.
