Hi Will the clamp linked (55mm/2.25) work to connect my miltek cat back to the cat? Its a 16v abf which i understand is the same as the vr6. I'm asking because I thought I read somewhere that you need to go bigger on the clamp but by how much? that clamp is used for joining 2 pipes which are the same diameter together so isn't suitable for a MK2/Corrado type as they have one pipe larger diameter which slips over the other. assuming its a standard cat on your car you need 357253143B -> 1H0253139D - 59.5mm which is £21+VAT at VW or plenty on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363929903970 - pattern https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173744353628 - genuine

Cheers matey yeah its the mk3 16v. I need to get bits so I can get it put back together. Probably need to venture into my loft and double check the miltek is the same diameter as the cat pipe and stop being lazy Also would you advise exhaust assembly paste as well as brackets?
That's still helpful re the other clamps as I need one also to bolt back box to centre pipe which is slip over

My cat is 55mm outer diameter but the pipe for my miltek is 58.5m out diameter (probably not miltek, it's just a straight bit of pipe from cat to centre box). yeah just need to source a suitable adaptor, the jetex system comes with one. just make sure you use the right measurements, I ordered a 2.25" -> 2.5" adaptor since everyone says the 16v is 2.25". but its not as VW use metric measurements so it didnt it
