I use a Haynes manual. Loads of new and used ones to be found on fleabay. Does the job for me! If all else fails post your problem in the relevant section of the forum. CGTI is an invaluable library of information backed by very talented & experienced individuals who share a passion for all things Dub. Well worth a membership.

    I have hard copy Bentley's Manuals for 90 2.3L 20V 7A Q and Mk2 Golf

They are US VAG OEM so are 100% for US imported cars.

They do not cover models outside the USA.

So. No RHD no G60 no 90 2.0L 20V NM.

I still find them invaluable and far superior to Haynes which have been known to have errors.

You don't get details like this in Haynes!

Yes. The VAG ones the dealers have. Plus the VAG training manuals.

That there is an encyclopaedia. A comprehensive workshop manual for a Garage or DIY'er. Haynes has mistakes, it's been pointed out however a good enough reference for the masses. If you are into file sharing and have big enough storage on your HD, an Elsawin download would be the one!

Bentley manual for me every time too.

I've got the Mk3 one because it covers the VR6 in lots of detail. Not the 2.9 Corrado lump though since the Yanks didn't get it, but it still works nonetheless.

And, yeah, sits on the roof/windscreen more comfortable than a laptop/tablet!
