I have factory AC in my mk2 here in Oz...trouble i am missing a few pipes under the bonnet.
since it hasnt had these for a while the compress will be shafted so i am going to get a mk3 set up to.

    has anyone done this?
Ive hit the search button and i know i need the brackets and pulleys...i should pick it up on the weekend so i will start to take it apart next week :)

mk3 setup should fit fine with some tweaking of the pipes, just need to swap MK2 pressure sensor(s) over and its all good.

    for the compressor you need:
    compressor
    alternator bracket
    alternator
    crank pulleys
    waterpump pulley
    all mounting bolts & studs

If your mk2 has pas you also need:
    pas pump
    pas pump brackets
    all mounting bolts & studs

basically strip the block completly bare!
