    Had a search for my new mk2 golf match 1985 vintage on a classic policy thought to phone footman james as have been with them b4 for quite a few years
    F comp
    unlimited milage
    no garage
    few mods (suspension wheels)
    breakdown cover
    agreed value 3500

    To be honest only tried confused and there cheapest were 260 adrian flux think theres was 300,peter james 180.. and im well quoted happy.

    I was very pleased with footman James at the beginning if the year. 19 years old first year of driving 1300, best quotes we're 700 dearer

    they didnt quote me competitively at all, i rang loads of insurance companies and will be sticking to HIC.
    Brentacre did my nut in as they offered me a good deal and when i went back the excess amount changed to a higher figure and so did some other stuff so i thought this isnt on and have told them to do one.

    Yeah they wouldnt quote me at all and im now with aviva for 800,

    apparently a mk2 isnt a classic [:x]

    hmm well they also said the engine was to big, but aviva are fine with it.

    could be due to the engine swap as they quote you on the car the engine is from iirc and the mk3 isn't yet a classic

    Wasnt on the vr6 was for the 5 door which is a 1.8 driver, im 19 2 years ncb
    aviva came in cheapest at 780 but im going to give brentacre a call in a few weeks aswell.

    i have to agree footman james are excellent, got my mk2 16v completely standard for 210 car on the drive and 4500 miles per year,and breakdown cover
