Not sure if this is right but off the top of my head the engine code for mk5 GTI's is AXX. Wouldn't be 100% sure though.

No problem, i'm 99% sure it's right but gillm will be able to tell you definitly i'd imagine. If not, try using the Euro Car Parts vehicle selector, it normally lists engine codes. Not sure if the new GTI is on it yet though.

ive not decided on an engine yet, im looking at the costs involved. i can get it fitted ect for next to nothing, just want to know the difference in price of parts ect. i know the mk5 unit will cost more, but how much more!?

 

do it and be diffrent everyone goes 1.8t

 

yeah but in a mk1 the 1.8t is scary enough let alone a 2.0 turbo im undecided at the moment, i'll see waht they work out at
