Hi, here are the front 3.5" speakers ive taken out of my mk2 16v. They are not in brilliant condition as you can see haha: They are the originals from 1989 and say 'Made in Tunesia' lol. Basically I want to go for something like blaupunkt or pioneer but these originals have VW connectors on them which are rather nice and Id like to keep: Anyone know a way to keep them and will the new speakers fit into the original connectors? Thanks Alex
I replaced mine with some Alpine co-axials. Nice and cheap (25 each), but really good quality (build and sound-wise) Autoleads should also be able to supply you with some wiring that will let you keep the original connectors.
Interested in this too, since I might actually be able to afford some replacements soon.. Noticed they spelt the country of manufacture wrong on your speakers - puntastic
When I was looking at audio for my Polo I found this a good place for co axials for OEM fit.. http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product_list/c_path/60_66_102/spd/8cm---3-5-speakers.html I would consider component speakers in the door with the tweeters where the fronts go if I was running an amp. It's a can of worms that can consume your life though.
