I wanted to ask how difficult it is to change the front strut top mounts for the shorter ones? If it's an easy job, I may do it first before getting it lowered properly (when funds allow).

I take it that it isnt just a case of jack up the front, and unbolt the old ones/ fit the new ones???? Or is it???

Would I have to remove the shocks completely etc...?????

    All help greatly appreciated.

    It's a mk3 gti by the way.

yes, remove shocks completely and you'll need spring compressors.

if it's the lowering caps you're fitting, it's just a shortened top seating for the spring to sit in, so shocks out i'm afraid...

k, thx, thought it would be shocks out jobbie. Probably not worth it till I get the whole lot then (springs and dampers).

Any of you guys think it's worth having lowing caps on the front with the koni T/A and eibach spring combo on a mk3? or will it sit nicely without?
