Where can I buy the 6mm threaded rubber cotton reel mounts that support Mk1 / Mk2(?) / Scirocco fuel pumps? Are there any aftermarket sources? Are they still available from VAG? I noticed that exhaust rubbers on old Renaults are pretty similar, but slightly longer, and might be able to get hold of a stash of these, if they're hard to get hold of.
Halfords has some cotton reel mounts in the generic exhaust hangers section but not sure on the size. I used them to mount the redtop pump I have. Gurds
the ones I saw in halfords are 8mm and about twice the size of the std ones. They could be adapted, but the space round the Scirocco pump is a bit tight.
They are still available from VAG. Bought a new set recently: 191 201 256 Hex shaped rubber and end plates
How much are they from the stealer? The guy on the bay, and CBS are not cheap. My local garage guy is getting me the renault ones for 1 each. I'll see if they're any good and maybe get him to order a few more.
