Saw this car on Friday evening just outside of Leamington Spa (going past the Quality Hotel off the A46) - sadly not in my Corrado so didn't bother flashing or waving or anything, but was a real treat to see one of these super rare beasties on the road Having done a bit of Googling, seems to be a car known around these parts.. or at least it used to be a few years ago? Is the owner on here and is he local to Leamington?
Thats the puppy - though it did seem to be wearing some different alloys. Seen them before on a Corrado.. sort of flat faced almost looking like steelies but alloy coloured instead. Quite weird but suited it pretty well
ye i know him, hes called Jon, lives in leamington. The limiteds got 300bhp, and alot of fun to ride in
on steelies atm whilst the BBS are getting refurbed. 300bhp tbh the car in the background is one of my favourite dubs, definatly the most fun to ride in. mk1 20VT with 270bhp. yeeesh. he doesnt take it to coventry much though. oh and the grill badge has broke....
Superb and thanks for the info Dave! I'll give him a wave if I ever see him again! Would love the chance to have a good look around that G60 Limited.. they are probably one of the best VW's ever made, despite my true love being the Rado! Cheers
I'm in Leam mate.. you already know who I am (Jim with the Red Corrado 2.0 16v - saw you at Decked Dubs meet, and that Midland Air Museum meetup) but i'm just posting under a different nickname than I use on a few other forums
Got 2 of the 4 wheels refurbished. Does any one know what size the original tyres on this car. Toyo 215 45 15s just came off it but I dont want the same again. Was looking at 205 50 15s goodyear NCT5. Any comments welcome. J
yes 205/50/15 was the standard fit, but I would run 195/50/15 as they don't look as balloned what happened to it's mate G6 DUB? found a pic from VW Driver few years back
Reviving an old topic.... I went in G6LTD when I was at uni, was an absolute rocket ship, and they weren't shy about giving it some beans!! Gary and Claire were the CGTI hosts back then, cannot believe they had 2 of them... madness.
