    Hi all,

finally cot the G60 conversion running but having a few problems.

Its cutting out as soon as it gets warm and its runnning VERY rich.

Is there a guide to sort the running rich problems?

Get the IAT sensor installed and connected up. Before trying to get it to run right you really need to be at the point where the G60 ECU has got all the basic sensors it needs (Inlet Air Temperature, Coolant Temperature, Lambda, throttle switches, and so on).

trouble is we got a new lambda from vw...... the black lead goes to an earth off the sensor now. and the old looms wires are all a different colour. is this right?

Yeah, Lambda's are always 2 white, 1 black one grey depending on amount of wires etc

The probe is the most important sensor when the engine is past warm-up so I suggest you look at that first, good sensor earths are also vitally important!

    Right,

    The lambda looks good,

However, just a thought, i am running an 8v fuel pump with Green injectors......

    Could this be an issue....

Or could it be just mapped badly.

Also i dont have the option of plugging in the BLUE intake sensor as i have an 8v airbox....

Any ideas where to go next?

If you are using a g60 ecu it is expecting intake air temp sensor info and also it uses the CO pot at idle as well to control the mixture which is part of the g60 intake sensor.
Also are you using a g60 blue coolant sensor ??

You really need to give the ecu the info it needs to run the engine.

The blue coolant temperature sensor is VERY important. Engine coolant temperature is an absolutely essential parameter that the ECU MUST have!

Wire the ECU up properly to all of the sensors it requires.

^^ agreed. It will never ever run correctly without all the sensors/senders sending the correct signals to the ecu.

The air intake sensor is not pluged in as i have an 8v airbox because i did not have the g60 airbox...., so what do you do with this sensor if you run a aftermarket foam induction kit?. Am i right in saying that the sensor that is the intake sensor goes into your airbox(if not correct me please). Every other sensor is plugged in the correct home, The car does not even run if you pull the blue coolant temperature sensor out so thats in. We sorted out all the other sensors/senders and the car idles fine now, the only problem we have is the car is overfueling(strong smell of petrol from exhaust whilst running), any help on this overfueling issue would be a great help as i dont want to take it to a garage as i ran out of money now:lol:
    cheers

    no sensors in my airbox?

it should still run if you pull the blue sender when its warm

The inlet air temperature sensor doesn't go into your airbox. It mounts into one side of the intercooler on my G60. But my G60 has the little top-mount intercooler due to it being an air-conditioning model, and I'm not sure if the IAT sensor goes elsewhere when you have the usual G60 FMIC.

Yes agree with Steve above - it should run without the blue coolant sensor when warm but just to emphasise - the ECU always needs coolant temperature to run properly.

if you are not using the g60 intake air temp sensor(which lives on the boost pipe between intercooler and intake manifold) then you will not have the CO pot which is used to properly set your idle mixture.
