    Oh Dear..........

    Had the Builder around today & after admiting he under budgeted for the job he now realised that after paying his workers & for materials he has actually spent all the money & made nothing but he said it's his own fault & he wants it built to his usually high standards.

    Bills so far & to do:

    Garage 5300
    RSJ 160
    Retaining wall to hold back garden (3 feet thick at bottom), Flanking walls & path 1500
    Extra heavy duty electric cable going to main box & earthing boiler (fault they found),eight double sockets &three 6ft lights = 450

    TOTAL = 7420

    & i still have to finish walls from garage up to house above ground level28ft long (6ft high one side & 4 ft high the other).

    Oh dear, well he did give you a quote sheet, the buildup looks good but, what are you gonna do though? Pay a bit extra?

    I don't see a hole for a ventilation fan though.

    Yeah gotta get the hole before it's rendered [:s], the extra im paying isnt for the garage as such & is outside sourced & was agreed at the start that it was extra work & wouldn't be a small job.

    Right had the Electrician in today & have run some cable from my main fuse/trip box (in front hall) up to spare room & along under the floorboards of balcony then down into my utility room under stairs in kitchen which will have a box here (not sure which one), then will go outside in some Armour cable (Jesus this stuff is thick& v expensive) & down to garage then into i think a Phase box?

    Also when we were lifting the board to go down into the utility room we noticed a light spur that wasn't even using a junction & was just twisted& taped together [xx(](looked like it was the last thing on the circuit & was rushed [:x]).

    The side walls & rollerdoor wall should have their final smooth finish done tommorrow & the retaining wall/steps/flanking walls for garden should also start tommorrow & have an estimated 4 working days to finish.

    that one there,

    personally i would get some shealding for it, so your mower doesnt go through it. or if you decide to take a spade to it!
