Geek/nerd question

    Recently had comments about my 88 MK2Gti having no rubber on the throttle pedal, I thought this was standard, anyone know for sure if it should have one???

    yeah they never had em , you can get one from some other models that fits and matches well

    often on ebay

    Thanks, thought so ,never had em???? dont want one,its kind of endearing the little pedal polished by your feet over the years......

    Yep, the idea being, you have rubber on the brake and clutch pedals to stop you`re foot slipping when wet, but not required on the accelerator since it`s not as bad if your foot slips off the gas.

    Accelerator pedal rubber i used on mine is from a mk3 golf tdi, for some reason that is the only one that came with the rubber as standard!

    Just fitted new rubbers on a customers Mk2 and it does look pretty smart. BUT, as said, never had 'em and not needed!

    That's because you wouldn't want your foot to slip off the accelerator of the Mk3 diesel, it would take you another 3 years to get back up to speed.[:D]

    A one year old 'newbie' ought to be careful having a dig at nealey, and by inference, at StuMc.;)

    He may not grow up to be a two year old!:lol:

    He could always become a paid member, which would make everything OK!:thumbup:

    I'm sure my metal accelerator pedal keeps rubbing holes in the sole of my trainers [:x]

    Dealing with the old people here... they are called pumps or daps.....:thumbup:

    You youngsters...they were called `pumps` long before they were called `trainers` (actually a completely different shoe, but that`s semantics.)

    `Daps` though? WTF? [:s] :lol:

    Daps was another name for plimsoles... ask old people....

    I thought daps were trainers and pumps were plimsoles but I defer to damien's more advanced years ;)

    You could well be right. Can't remember my own name sometime, love tp bemuse youngsters by calling 80 pumps ,pumps:thumbup:
