    After a very satisfying fix on my glove box runners using thin steel plate riveted to to the broken plastic centre part (top fix if anyone wants more info let me know) I've had another set back as the catch has now broken, 'bugger'! Has anyone any ideas? Are parts available and can I use the old lock to keep it original?
    With the onset of winter I've had to resort to storing gloves in a pocket or worse still, stiching them to my coat sleeves! so any help would be appreciated.

    TOP TIP The parcel shelf in your car can also be used for the storage of winter hats in an emergency.

    This a better solution than stitching them to your sleeves;

    Just make sure the string is a suitable length or you`ll end up looking like your semaphoring everytime you move an arm.

    Thanks for the hat storage tip too! :thumbup:

    (Try the Classifieds here or go down the scrappies and liberate a complete glovebox from a suitable donor. You should be able to swap the lock with a bit of fiddling.)

    You can get catches with no lock so it'll still be original with no p*ssing around.

    The catch itself has a big plastic clip on the back of it that slides off using a flat screwdriver :)

    the lock itself comes out of the catch very easily, if you look onthe back theres like a clip thing, prise this open carefully and lock slides right out. then swap over another mk2 lock job done. as above can also get a lock blank insert from poverty spec cars.

    if lock itself at fault, carefully pull the fingers out of it and swap to a working lock, job done

    Thanks Jon

    I'll give it a go! the clasp is off and dissembled looks like one of the metal arm levers is broken I'll have to try and remember how it goes back together clould be tricky, I should be able to source a second hand one from somewhere! and swap the bits over!

    Cheers Jon
