My current car was purchased by it's first UK owner from G60 Imports in June 2001.

Before i purchased it from it's second owner on September 2012, it had quite a few modifications to it.

With JE pistons, the engine became a 1.9L with big valve head and ported supercharger running a 68mm pully. ASD gearbox with Quaife LSD. Stainless exhaust with cat bypass from exhaust manifold. Short shift gear changer and KW V1 coilover suspension.

Sadly, unlike the VW advert, the car was not "The Icing on the GTI" when it came up for sale. The 2nd owner was thinking of using it as a track car but it would probably be scrap by now as it was in a poor condition. The drive back to Edinburgh saw the ABS light stay on, the front damaged arch trim come away from the wing and engine smells coming through the vents. What had I bought

Since then, the bodywork has been sorted out with new wings, trim, fog lights, tailgate and paint. BMW BBS wheels replaced with RM002's

Mechanically the head has had a rebuild, Tezet exhaust manifold added. Water pump, radiator, distributor, ABS unit, clutch + hydraulics replaced. ECU chip replaced with one from JD Engineering. Still running on standard camshaft.

Worn interior replaced along with missing or damaged trim.

    After all that, you get.

Still need to wire up the seat motors although the loom is there. Interior could do with being taken out and cleaned properly and the missing insulation under carpet replaced. The ASD gearbox could also do with a rebuild as it's seen a lot of action over the last 17 years. It shifts when the foot is down but will sit at 2700rpm when on the motorway.

When removing the centre console after buying the car, an old job sheet was stuck to the back.

Of interest is the code S9B which is "Presentation vehicles for special subsequent marketing activities"

Ace! always wanted one of these think its the exterior / interior colour combo and special shell, you'll have to get some interior pics up.

I seem to remember a few companies importing G60's around the millennium, I remember buying a set of RM's off Supergolf's and he always had a few tasty G60 imports

great looking car always have a love for any G60 in any format.
Had a rallye back in 2000 for about a year at the time all it did was empty my wallet - one car i always regret letting go though,

Stunning car! That’s a real credit to you.
I remember Supergolfs, G60 Imports and Rallyemeister imported some really special cars back in the day. A lot of them seem to have the ‘RX’ in the reg.

Car looks fantastic. If you don’t mind me asking, what size tyres are you running on it?

Beautiful car. Miss my old one so much.

Managed to get just under 230bhp from mine sticking with 1.8 but just about everything else was tweaked. Mine didn't have an LSD so traction was lacking to say the least DSCN1564.jpg
