AFAIK they were 'sold' but you'd have to be pretty well in with VW to know they were available so most did end up going to VW bigwigs, but I may have utterly made that up.
I spotted one recently, but can not remember for the life of me where. Was going for round about the 12k mark.
I love the Limited mostly because of the low numbers made and the fact that it was so plain looking and had an almost 'one off' type engine fitted. Almost as if someone let a real enthusiast loose in the factory and they came up with the 16v G60 conversion. Similar to how everyone on here builds oem+ engines. I remember going back 10 years or so that building a 16v G60 for yourself wasn't the easiest thing to do, something to do with mounting the alternator from memory. I'd like to say I would spend 20k on a limited but I honestly dont think I could as I would be in constant conflict with myself trying to take care of it and preserve it and when to drive it when not.
Was one for sale 2 years ago minted as in like new with 48,000 km on the clock went for 21000 completely oem , 2 owners from new , best mk2 built , but you could build one for less , but then it's not the same really
R&a designms had one in the nineties..... Did a rh drive conversion on it and ruined it I recall. There was a chap in vw driver a few years ago who had a ltd, and so did his wife! Tim stiles said in his book that he couldn't see the point in a supercharged 16v motor, he also said that the schrick inlet manifold for the vr6 wasn't all that too I remember.
G410 NNV - the original Milton Keynes press car and the only official UK car, Autocar tested etc etc... mentioned earlier in the thread as now owned by dubboy76. This of all the cars was not the one to mess with! Said owner of R&A duly had a lecture from me on what the feck he was doing. His car etc fair enough, but when he blamed the wife for her preference of RHD, I was spitting teeth! The car was duly converted back at a later stage/owner, but I dread what spagetti is lurking under the dash and dodgy wobbly cunifer brake lines. No need!
