    Hi.

New to the forum and wanted to ask the following:

Im interested in having my Golf 140BHP upgraded to either 170BHP or 190BHP.

Im guessing upgrading to 195PS seems a bit risky as i remember reading post a while ago saying that massive increases in performances can cause engine instability.

    More-bhp.com offers below

    GT 2.0 TDI CR 140PS/320Nm 195PS/430Nm WAS 399 NOW 299

Has anyone made the jump with the new Mk6 from 140 to 170/190, and if so how have you found it ?

Would this invalidate the VW warranty ?

    Cheers

yes it would invalidate the engine side of the warrenty at the very least if found!!
there are some tests related checking for remapping. which these would only come into play if there was issues that could be related.
Another note if there was a recall or other issue and a software update was on the cards you should be asked if you want it doing - if no because of a remap ou'd have to fill in paper work
or it might end up the ecu was updated - wiping the map off in the process

sorry to be doom and gloom but that its the was it is!

as for the improvment I'd say it should be a nice upgrade to the engine, having driven 140 and 170 ps models back to back it's amazing the amount of extra torque availble
