Great attention to detail here. What is the foam and where did you get it from? I'm just the same it has to be one piece. I noticed the new fuel tank brackets early in the thread if it's going to sit outside again ideally you'll want to wax those with dynax UC or similar both sides then put them on and over spray the underside.
Wheres that big plastic foam backed bit go? Mine never got refitted the time my matrix exploded Whats next to do? And when??
Don't seem to have a lot of interest these days But here goes, Got wing linners fitted along with front arches next up was gear stick and heat shields and changed brake discs over. 280mm Volkswagen discs & Seat Ibiza cupra R 305mm Just brings the cars braking system up to date. G60 disc below Seat 305mm Heat shield Another bit done ...thats all for now
Nice work! Looks very fresh. Could you do me a favour if possible? Could you take a couple of measurements of the 305mm discs? I need: - hub mounting face (back of disc) to the rear braking surface in mm. - thickness of disc mounting area in mm. Thanks. Gurds
Look and find bits and fit to the dub day Engine mounts fitted Along with window wiper mechanism Some of you may not like them but I do mudflaps next
Got a chance there today and pulled one off Discs are 28mm thick standard...rule is not just on right 40mm deep from inside mating face to back of disc 6mm thick
Moving on back plates fitted to protect joints from heat Disc refitted along with caliper No problem with clearance on proper rims
Eye Candy, Delicious! Like how you heat wrapped that steering gaitor! Your attention to detail is impressive!
Is that just foil tape you have used on the steering gaitor? Car is looking fantastic by the way, better than new
Next up Is Intercooler & Rad set up Going to stick with the Original VW G60 intercooler Just Front Braided lines for Mk2 golf to Ibiza Brembo calipers to get and a belt kit May change the fans over to the slimmer one Wee trial fit & well happy
Just getting the last bits I need to finish her then hope to get stuck in again next month Went to creationsmotorsport_uk For the Mk2 to Brembo brake lines ...nice and easy and came the next day Then after a bit of searching I managed to find a set of flat center caps for my Rays, with the Black longer nut covers will be sweet Wee note.... These would not have fitted the car before as the standard bearing hub cap stuck out to far, but running polo gti ones now. Same colour as rims and Alloy. Pic on Rim
Taking this of the road two years ago was not a good idea As I have lost interest and just don't seem to have the drive to finish it now Mates keep telling me to throw a few days at it and finish it and thats all it would take, but I open the garage door look at it .. walk in a lift one of my bikes and away I go not sure what its future is...even put cloth cover over it now ...out of sight out of mind
