Hi there i have just passed my test and got myself a GTi 2.0 8v mark 3, No NCB, 23yrs everywhere i tried were quoting me stupid money, but managed to get it down to 1035 fully comp, low excess, windscreen cover, legal protection etc. The best quote i have got after hours of hunting.
The company is called computer quote insurance 0800 389 9949.
They do cover from a few days, to the complete year, and arrange their own finance, so if i get laid off again, i stop my payments, and my insurance stops, with no penalties.

Hope this saves someone hours of messing around.

    Cheers, matt

Try admiral. I had a mk2 16v at 21 fully comp for that price. My current mk3 16v costs me 350 a year fully comp and I'm 24 now.

Db, how on earth do you get a quote that low?!! I just cant understand it - I'm 28yrs old, passed my test in 2006, so only been driving 4 years, but have 4 yrs no claims bonus - my current renewal has been offered at 525, but paid monthly cos I cant afford the full whack, have done some scouting around and the cheapest I can find has been Adrian Flux @ 440 3rd party F&T! Fully comp whacks me right up to nearly 600. [:s]

I live in a pretty decent town - Tring, so dont believe it's the area, but just dont understand what the difference is between yours and mine, you are younger & under 25, but can get insurance, fully comp at under 400! Madness

I've tried so far, Brentacre, Adrian Flux, Admiral, Quinn (who I'm with currently) Have yet to ring Greenlight & HIC...

  6. Bump!

Anyone got any recommendations for Mk3 insurance?

Renewal on a Mk3 GTI 16v is 740 from Direct Line (multi-car etc), Footman James managed a whopping 5,000(!) because the car will be used on business too (albeit less than 1000 miles a year, visiting local clients etc).

Admiral got about 20 cheaper, and may do multi-car, but Go Compare gave me some ~500 quotes, but I tend to wonder what the catch is

Yer I'm paying 500 fully comp and i'm 32 with 4yrs no claims how the hell did you get 350?
A good thing to do is if your doing online quotes then stick your mum down as a named driver
    it saved me 94.
My mate just got his saphirre cosworth insured for 140, so unfair

Try Peter Best or Footman James. They were both cheap for my Mk2s and also for a Mk3 VR6 I quoted for.
