Hi all. Used to love this magazine, bit sold out when it became + (inc other similar models rather than just Golfs) but now not seen it in years? Does it still exist? I see it is kind of available as an App for IOS but even that looks years out of date? I appreciate there's Performance VW but that's always felt very (too) American for me? Thanks all
Golf + was crap, just full of ruined golfs full of stupid speakers and ridiculous wheels, makes me angry thinking people were willing to do to a mk2. Stick with subtle, what bothers me most these days is bloody air ride, why? Make a car faster and or fun to drive, not an ornament it looks ridiculous and defies the point of buying a hot hatch. Sorry. Rant over.
Rant appreciated, not looking for a chav'd up Golf magazine either. I remember it being ok but may have been longer ago than I recall? Any nice magazines anyone would recommend for nice OEM projects or builds?
Hence why I often buy fast ford as i can read about interesting stuff not just look at me show cars, its full of go cars.
I used to really enjoy Retro Cars mag ........until recently when the editor changed....not sure i like the direction its going now.......just about every issue over the last 4 months has had a brake or suspension upgrade or ICE "special" in it to just fill up pages. I stopped subscribing to PVW a while back as everything seemed to be a brand new audi on rotiforms with air ride = show car
The Golf magazine was a spin of from car and car conversions i had the first one and most of rest up to a few years back skipped most of them when i moved house
i used to buy both pvw and golf+ till a few years back i find the forums and Facebook have more than filled that void
Thanks all, that explains that then! I know there's a good substitute in FB, forums etc but I'm a bit old school in that there's something a bit treaty about buying a magazine! It's like reading a good book or Kindle. It just doesn't quite feel right! Thank you though all for that, it'll save me wasting time searching in earnest in WHSmith! I'll start my search for a nice traditional classic VW magazine that isn't just all air cooled...
