hi i have searched the forum before anyone tells me to do that lol i have a 515 fault code on my 1995 2.0i 8v ady engine taken a few piccys to double check its out as i hope you can see it's only a mm or 2 out at the dizzy would this cause the 515 fault code also had it at a garage vw place in newark and he tryed to time it with a timing light and said it was just in the specs but also been told you have to use vagcom to time it please help p.s the dizzy is stuck fast in the hole any ideas how to remove it with out damage i have all ready soked it in wd40
its the short to b+ code took this piccy too surely the gap in the plate should be inline with the hall sender when at tdc
you cant adjust it with a timing light, thats where he went wrong. on the AGG and ADY engine you need to set the dizzy to TDC exactly, not before or after. then you log into vag-com to confirm the adjustment, plus fine tune it if required. see my sig, aggadydizzy1.pdf and aggadydizzy2.pdf edit: and on some the dizzy is locked into place, so you need to adjust it at the intermediate shaft pulley rather than moving the dizzy. if you cant fine tune it enough then you can remove the locking pins if required. but you shouldnt have to do this as long as the dizzy has never been moved
thanks jonny i remeber you saying before you need vagcom to time it the dizzy has never been removed by the looks of it too mite have too leave it for the moe as thinking it will need work for the mot it a couple of months lol
