What do people think about the new FSI engines? (I'm no expert on engines)

I see the GTI version in the mk5 still only comes with 150bhp. I don't know about you guys but I think Hot hatches have come a long way since the Mk1's.

I think thats still not enough power for the car, with Civic Type-R's around at a nifty 200bhp from a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine, which I have to admit handle very well too.

The R32 has a respectable 240bhp, but from a 3.2 litre engine not to mention the 6 cylinders. I feel thats not doing the engine enough justice.

I have a mk3 8v myself, which is just far too sluggish. Too many embarrassing moments from being left behind by even the old civic vti's.

The boys at VW need to notch up the power gains from their engines me thinks to keep up with the tough competition.
