    Anyone driven it ?

Memories from the MkIV R32 were ... great all season traction but poor handling / braking.

Then MK7 R does look great, and I've already been questioned why I didn't hold out for one ;)

But IMO the GTI does look better.

The R does have a good bit of power behind it though. Wouldn't mind having a test drive in one once they are available. :)

I think Pascall drove the R and GTI and prefered the GTI.

A mate of mine has repaired 2 accident damaged R's that were brought from Dubai

The GTI there looked nigh on the same, cars were being used for corporate sessions on snow & ice.

A very brief chat with the instructor did not reveal much enthusiasm for the R.

Full 8-page road test of Golf R DSG in the forthcoming May issue of Volkswagen Driver magazine ( www.volkswagendrivermag.co.uk )

You'll be astounded at its all-round performance ;)

I go back on what I said above. They look basic compared to the GTI. Not a lover of the R, but wouldn't mind that kind of power ;)

If I wanted a 4WD performance car it would not have the HALDEX system :thumbd:
