hi, got a 98 gti 8v 2lit, 2 weeks ago it stoped running in town, would not restart, towed home a mobile mach. said distributor is knacked.. changed that an plugs, perfect for 11 days, 12 day same prob, stops 200yds along street, wont restart for 2 days, then starts, then next day wont go, took to local garage for 3 days, started every time at garage, so they said tyr change fuel pump relay, as cheapest option. i did this. car goes perfect for 2days, then today, left overnite would not start at mates, had to be towed home again. but when it runs, its perfect for hours, stops and starts perfect. there is a very good spark, and fuel getting there, and half a tank full. have heard today, that the when distributor changed, you should unhook battery for 30 mins for ecu to remap/reboot? is this so.. and is it too late now? could this have any bearing on problem.. Any help would be great.. cheers andy
