GTI rear screen vinyl

Hi all, after a rear screen vinyl for my MK2 as it's been removed by the PO.

Noticed there's a few on ebay, anyone got any real world reviews of the fit on them? I read somewhere its best to get a non hole one and form the holes myself as it makes for a more forgiving application.

Any fitting tips? Do they have an adhesive backing as in a big sticker, or do they require water spraying/sliding into place/squeegee the water out after?

Glass is out of the tailgate.

I got one from ebay. It was one piece with an adhesive backing like a big sticker. Putting it on was a bit of a faff to ensure no air bubbles. No water or squeegee.

 

What was the fit like?

 

I got mine from Heritage. It was a very good fit, stick on ( have to remove the window obviously) but the time it went wrong was when I tightened up the rear wash wipe nut. It slightly twisted and put a crease in the vinyl. My fault, not the product but bear this in mind when fitting.

 

Mine was very good fit. Mind you my brother fitted it
