    Really helpfull thread.

I'm looking dropping my 16v engine into my Driver 1600 soon.

Does the above quote apply to me?

I know Rub' told me they just plug in, but do they plug into the same location as where they came from?

They are both '89 with hazard on dash not column.

    Cheers

    Nice 1!

I'm basically going to be using everything from the 16v and transfer it over.

I read I can use the clocks as long as they are both the same, ie 1 or 2 pin.

Mine are both 2 pin, so going to do this.

I also want to run the MFA, what's involved?

Alright guys. I decided to do a little work on the Mk2 today. I managed to label up everything on the main engine loom (Cheers RubJonny!) and i then started to go through the fueling loom.

Ive took some pictures of the plugs which i can't seem to make out.

    1. - 8 wires -
    Colours - Black, Grey/white , 2 x Black , Green/black , 2 x Red , Grey/Red

    2. - 4 wires -
    Colours - Purple/black , brown/blue , red/yellow , brown

    3. 4 wires -
    Colours - 2 x Brown , 2 x red/yellow

    4. 5 wires -
    Colours - Grey/black , black/red , black/white , black , brown

    5.

Any help would be great guys...

    Cheers [:D]

    Edit -

Also, i think i might be missing a plug which plugs into the water flange, furthest away from the head.

What colour wires should be going to this?

yeah as long as they have same pins its all good. you need to swap the mfa styalk wires into your clock plugs, or swap the entire clock loom over, whichever is easier. engine side its no problem as all the sensor loom will be included with the engine loom.

    richard:
    1. rear light plug?
    2. lift pump
    3. main pump
    4. other rear light plug?
    5. wires to tailgate and boot light, the random brown wire pin should be in the 2 pin plug with the red wire
    6. black 2 pin plug, one of the wires is red/yellow. it might be in the lighting loom rather than engine loom, if so the old loom should have the right lengths on

Im going to lay out the fuel loom tomorrow.

I just wondering how the loom gets to the under car pump?

Is there a gap that runs past the fuel tank?

yep, it runs along side the 2 fuel pipes from the lift pump to the main pump. if you look under there you'll see some handy clips that hold both pipes and the loom :)

trouble is to actually get it down there the tank will probably need dropping a bit, though not particularly dificult with a trolley jack and some wood
